Summer Fest to be held August 17th at the Sand Mountain Experiment Station in Crossville on Hwy 68.
Registration 9am to 10 am. starts at 10 with a livly motivational speaker. You will have already had your coffee and sausage rolls so be early.
Then we will hear from the "Grace Tones". We will do 3 crafts, all materials will be provided.
Break for lunch sandwiches, salads,desserts, tea, friendship, fellowship what more could you ask for? Join us for lots of fun $12.00 registration fee may be paid at the door.

The Portersville Club is proud to announce our 2011 Key Member is Elise Rumsey. Elise joined our club last year and has been a great asset. She calls all our members to remind them of meetings and different events. Elise jumps right in and helps with any and all club activities. At last year's Collinsville Quilt Walk she baked all her items and packaged them before she went in the hospital for colon cancer surgery. We love her and admire her dedication to our club and this organization.

Portersville Club will be hosting our annual "Turkey Trot" Bake Sale on November 13th from 9am-2pm. Come join the fun!! We donate one-third of our proceeds to the Collinsville Historical Association which is renovating the old Cricket Theater. I am with the Ider Homemakers CLub. We are getting prepared for the annual Mule Day Celebration in Ider.

The club will be selling our specialty "fried apple pies" . These pies are a great seller and delicious!!

Check out A Time 2 Sew web site to see sewing and pillowcases (part of the millionpillowcase challenge)
We gathered to produce pillowcases that will be donated to DHR in Ft Payne.
Homemaker building only had minor damage from the tornado that struck Geraldine.....Thanks to all who came to help the city recover from tornado.
April meeting was canceled due to inability to get to building due to debris blocking roads.
May meeting will be held 25th, at 1pm. We will hold a baby shower for Sav a life and a paper shower for CAC.
Everyone is welcome to come and join us.

The Spring District One Meeting is drawing near, March 24th at Kyuka Missionary Baptist Church. Tickets are $11.00 registration from 9am-10am,theme "Tour of Italy".
Send registration to Joyce Davis District Coordinator by Maech 17th. This promises to be a great meeting and is so close to us in DeKalb this time. I hope we have a record number show up for this event.

GHCL is proud to announce that Quaylene Allen is the president for 2010-2011.
Nettie Crow, a member of GHCL turned 100 on Jan. 5th she has enjoyed 5 birthday parties and was presented with a quilt with squares made by GHCL members with their names on the quilt and machine quilted by Donna Edwards at the Jan. 26 meeting.

For those who don't know GHCL is sponsoring a 4-H Community club that meets on the first and third Monday of the month at 5:45pm to 7:45pm. Monday the 21st they will be learning to knit, with GHCL homemaker, Beth Holt as instructor. The club has already done several projects including gathering supplies for two Christmas Shoebox ministry. The club's name is Sew On and Sew Forth; know of anyone age 9 to 14 in the Geraldine area that wants to join? Let them bring a parent and come to a meeting to join the other sewers.

On Feb 12th the Dekalb County AHCL Council hosted an Awards Day at the United Methodist Church of Geraldine. Linda O'Shields of the Ider Club was named "Woman of the Year". Carolyn Cox of the Ider club was given the "Presidents Appreciation Award" for her outstanding service.
